02 · PREPARE WITH PURPOSE

Use the pack in four steps.

Use a fresh copy for each project. Keep personal body measurements in a private record, and keep the pattern’s own instructions close by.

  1. Identify what you are working with.

Write down the fabric sample, pattern name, version and selected size. Note whether the actual pattern files and complete instructions are available before planning the cut.

  2. Record the sample and materials.

Keep units, measurement direction, sample condition and waiting time explicit. Follow the stretch and recovery method; the Fabric Stretch Calculator can summarize your entered lengths. Confirm material quantities from the actual pattern.

  3. Prepare your print.

Choose the PDF matching your paper. Use Actual Size / 100% for these record sheets and inspect page edges. For a sewing pattern, follow its supplied reference and the printing and assembly guide. Check both directions with the PDF Print Scale Checker.

  4. Keep decisions beside the work.

Log completed steps, observations and adjustments. Assess a fitting sample where needed, record the result yourself, and update the plan before cutting final fabric.
